LISTING ITEMS IS FREE! After the sale, www.WayToGear.com charges a 7% fee on all sales and shipping charges. There is also a 3% non-refundable payment processing fee that goes to Stripe, our payment processor. These fees will be subtracted from your payout. If the item sells elsewhere, outside of WayToGear, just end your listing, and pay nothing. For full details please see our Terms of Service.

WayToGear uses Stripe for processing payments and storing your financial information. WayToGear is not in possession of your financial information at all, Stripe is. Stripe is used and trusted by some of the largest companies in the world such as Amazon, Google, Nasdaq, Toyota, Zoom, Lyft, Instacart, Shopify, Wayfair, etc.
For Buyers - Your payment is held in escrow with Stripe until you receive the item from the seller and accept it. So, you are assured of receiving what you ordered safely and securely.
For Sellers - WayToGear and Stripe both use AI machine learning fraud systems on all orders and payments, as well as to validate that users are who they claim they are. Stripe's adaptive AI algorithms also learn from Stripe's global network of millions of users. These advanced systems provide state of the art safety for sellers.
WayToGear also has a security team that monitors listings, sales, messages, buyers, and sellers for safety. We run buyers, sellers, listings, and sales through a series of additional compliance and validation checks to help processes run smoothly. Of course we are also here to help with anything and can often quickly resolve any issues or questions.As a seller, when will I be paid?
Sellers that are "well established" on WayToGear may be paid within 24 hours of the sale. For newer, less established sellers, they will be paid within 24 hours of the buyer acknowledging and accepting receipt of the item(s). Determination of "well established" is based on your WayToGear marketplace history, data from Stripe, and information from outside vendors.
How to sell my items fast for top dollar?
1) Set up your payment information on the "Settings" Menu. Listings without payment information come up last in all search results since there is no method to buy them. Buyers do not trust Sellers who have not set up their payment information because we warn them of the safety risks.
2) Go to your listing on our site and click the buttons to post your item to social media. Your item will still sell on our marketplace with all of our protections. More exposure always helps!
3) Ask a fair price for the item. Price is a very important factor as buyers know the fair values of the items they are looking for.
4) Make sure you have good quality photos that show your item from multiple angles. Photos tell most of the story and can help your buyer feel more comfortable.
5) Provide a comprehensive description for your listing. Most buyers will not waste their time to send you a message. So in your listing, try to answer the questions you think they might ask. This will help people to find your item in search as well as to locate your item easily in the search results they are viewing.
6) Add a profile picture and fill out the "about you" section of your profile. Getting sales is all about trust and fairness. Help your buyers by letting them visualize you with your photo and read a small blurb about you.
7) Ask a reasonable shipping price. Buyers consider price plus shipping in their decision to buy.
How should I ship my item?
All gear sold on WayToGear MUST be shipped in a manner that provides an online traceable tracking number, and the tracking number needs to be provided by the Seller to the Receiver on our platform. We have found UPS and the USPS to be the most reliable. We recommend "signature required" service. We also recommend "direct delivery only" service for UPS (so buyers cannot route the package to another location for pickup). If your package is valuable, please consider buying shipping insurance. Save yourself time, money, and trouble by NOT using FedEx.
Do you offer returns and product trials?
The option to offer returns and product trials is up to the Seller. If information about returns and
product trials is not specified in the items listing just message the Seller
to ask about them.
