I am selling my Leica Q2m monochrome. I’ve only had it for a six months. I’m the only owner and was bought new. Has less than 200 shutter count.
I bought it thinking I would get excited about shooting black and white but after a couple of outings I have lost my desire for photography.
There is no sign of use or marks on it.
Included are a Arte di mano Buttero black leather half case, a thumb grip, B+W red, green and orange filters.
Comes with box and everything you’d expect when buying it new.
Leica Q2 Monochrom, a camera that celebrates the timeless elegance of black and white photography.
Leica Q2 Monochrom: A Monochrome Marvel
The Leica Q2 Monochrom is purpose-built for those who appreciate the artistry of black and white imagery. Here's a detailed exploration of its features:
Monochrome Sensor:
- The heart of the Q2 Monochrom is its 47.3-megapixel full-frame monochrome sensor. Unlike traditional color sensors, this one lacks a color filter array. As a result, it captures pure light levels without interpolation, rendering images with exceptional sharpness and clarity.
- The sensor's resolution allows for substantial cropping while maintaining image quality. Even extreme enlargements remain detailed.
- Remarkably, the Q2 Monochrom maintains low noise levels even at high ISOs (up to 100,000).
Lens and Optics:
- The built-in Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH. prime lens complements the sensor beautifully. It delivers razor-sharp details and creamy bokeh.
- Eleven lens elements, including three aspherical elements, ensure outstanding image quality. Textures and details emerge crisply in tones of black and white.
Viewfinder and Handling:
- The OLED viewfinder boasts 3.68 million dots and provides a precise, lag-free preview. Compose your shots with confidence, even in challenging lighting conditions.
- The Leica User Interface and touchscreen make operation intuitive. The diopter wheel on the rear ensures precise adjustments.
Performance:
- Autofocus relies on a 225-field contrast AF system with face detection.
- Burst shooting reaches 10 frames per second.
- ISO sensitivity spans from 100 to 100,000 (50,000 for video).
- Video capabilities include uncropped 4K UHD up to 30p.
Design and Build:
- The Q2 Monochrom exudes Leica's signature minimalist elegance. It's compact, measuring 130 x 80 x 91.9mm.
- The fixed 3-inch touchscreen LCD (1.04 million dots) keeps the camera sleek.
- With the battery, it weighs 734g.
Connectivity and Extras:
- Wi-Fi connectivity allows for seamless image transfer.
- The camera accepts SD/SDHC/SDXC UHS II memory cards.
In summary, the Leica Q2 Monochrom is a tool for purists—a celebration of light and shadow, texture and form. It invites photographers to explore the soulful realm of black and white, where every frame becomes a timeless work of art.
