Very clean glass. This my own, personal lens that I have used with great success attached to a Fuji X-E1. This lens is in very good optical condition and is working perfectly. There are no cracks or starches on the glass, no fungus, no balsam separation and no cement separation. There is a little schneideritis on the inside of the barrel but this does not affect the performance of the lens. Schneideritis is simply the black paint flaking from the walls of the lens and is showing up as spots where the paint has peeled. This is visible in a few photos I provided on the sides inside the lens. The purpose of the paint inside where schneideritis is occurring is to reduce internal reflections in the lens. This is definitely a vintage lens and in very good shape considering it was released over sixty years ago.

Canon manufactured rangefinder lenses and cameras, leading to a line-up of no less than 59 different LTM (Leica Thread Mount also known as M39) lenses between 1946 and 1964. These lenses are fully compatible to Leica M cameras and can be easily adapted to other modern mirrorless cameras as well. The Canon 50mm 1.2 LTM is the second fastest lens from this series.

According to Canon’s online lens history hall there have been 16 different rangefinder lenses with a focal length of 50mm that have been made between 1946 and 1964, but only one with a maximum aperture of f/1.2, the Canon 50mm 1.2.
