It comes fully rigged as in the first photo, but without the tripod!!!! This FS5 has only 50 hours on it.!!!! I had 2 of them, and then I got the Sony FS7 shortly after, so this barely got any use. This is a true cinema camera, meant for filming events, talking head interviews, commercials. It's best for production work, and light enough to be carried around on a daily basis. I used it mainly for conferences and corporate interviews. It will come with a 128 gig SD card, 70-200 2.8 lens, and follow-focus.
The Sony PXW-FS5, a compact yet powerful cinema camera that has captured the hearts of filmmakers and content creators.
1. Sensor and Resolution
The FS5 is built around a high-sensitivity 4K Super35 Exmor™ CMOS sensor. It boasts a total of 11.6 million pixels, with 8.8 million effective pixels delivering true 4K resolution⁵.
2. Design and Ergonomics
- The FS5 features a compact and lightweight design, making it highly portable for on-the-go shooting.
- It comes with an E-mount, allowing you to use a wide range of lenses.
- The adjustable "Smartgrip" handgrip provides comfortable handling and control.
- You have both an electronic viewfinder (EVF) and an adjustable LCD panel for framing and monitoring shots.
3. Recording Capabilities
- The camera records in XAVC-L format at 8-bit, 4:2:0 color sampling.
- It supports QFHD (3840×2160) resolution, which is Ultra HD (UHD).
- While it shoots UHD 4K out of the box, DCI 4K and 4K RAW are promised in a later firmware update⁴.
4. High Frame Rates (HFR) and Slow Motion
- The FS5 offers impressive slow-motion capabilities:
- Up to 120 fps in 4K.

- Internal recording at 120 fps in Full HD.
- You can achieve even higher frame rates (480 fps and 960 fps) at specific resolutions.
5. HDR Workflow
- The demand for HDR content is increasing, and the FS5 provides two powerful workflows:
- Instant HDR Workflow: Shoot, edit, and view content in Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) for quick delivery without compromising image quality.
- S-Log2/3: Ideal for premium applications where maximum data capture is essential for grading flexibility.
6. Pricing
