The highly regarded and much sought after CARL ZEISS JENA DDR MC FLEKTOGON 35mm F/2.4 (DDR) delivers superb optical performance across the frame with excellent resolving power evident, well balanced contrast and a pleasing warm rendition of colours… it can turn the average 'scene' in to something much more. It features an aperture range of f/2.4 - f/22, an impressive minimum focusing distance of just under 0.2m which gives an equally impressive 1:2 (half life-size) maximum magnification, CZJ multi-coated optics (red MC), a 49mm accessory (filter) thread and excellent 'old school' East German build quality. Very highly recommended.
CONDITION OF LENS
This CZJ Flektogon 35mm f/2.4 has beautiful bright and unmarked optics! There are no visible marks to either the front or rear elements. Bought it from a person that took great care of it, kept the UV filter on it all the time, and i just haven't had the chance to make use of it mostly because I have found its not my favourite focal lenght, so I want it to go to someone that will use it more than me!

"I have been shooting with this Flektogon over the last few months and the optical quality has been hugely impressive. It is without fungus or hazing and is very clean internally. It is focusing well and its infinity focusing is accurate. The aperture is snappy and clean without any oil contamination. The A/M switch works correctly. Cosmetically the CZJ Flektogon is in near mint condition with only very minor signs of light and careful previous use to the barrel. It is supplied with a very clean Hoya 49mm skylight filter and a M2- Fuji X mount in case you shoot Fujifilm. CZJ Flektogon 35/2.4 Ser. No: 56289
The 35mm Flektogon was manufactured both in M42 and Praktica B mount (branded as Prakticar 2,4/35 MC Carl Zeiss Jena). The older versions have an aperture of f2.8 while the newer versions have an aperture of f2.4. The newer versions have a black finish while the older f2.8 lens is normally grey/silver. Some newer lenses use the branding 'electric' meaning that they have three electric connectors at the back of the lens. The older lenses are not multi coated (MC).The 35mm f2.4 Flektogon lenses are either marked 'MC' (in red or white) or multi coating. All these lenses use the same coating. Lenses with a red branding tend to be more expensive.
DIGITAL SLR/CSC COMPATIBILITY
Pentax/Praktica M42 screwmount lenses with the auto/manual diaphragm switch can be easily adapted for use with most makes/models of digital SLR/CSC cameras from Canon EOS, Olympus/Panasonic 4/3 and Micro 4/3, Pentax PK, Sony Alpha / Minolta A-mount, Samsung NX, Sony NEX, Nikon 1 (not for Nikon F mount unless you use an mount adapter containing a glass element) and the Fujifilm Fuji X-Pro1, X-E1, X-M1, X-T1 etc.. When M42 lenses are used on digital SLR/CSC some limitations will always apply, i.e. manual exposure and manual focus. Mount adapters are readily and cheaply available from other ebay sellers.
