The Vinten tripod provides a versatile camera mounting. The tripod may be used indoors or outdoors. The unit accepts a camera and accessory weight of up to 91 kg (200 lb), yet itself weighs less than 22 kg (50lb). When folded flat for transportation, the tripod may be easily carried by one person.
The tripod is available in standard and short versions, the latter providing a lower minimum height. Both tripods are telescopically extendable to the maximum/minimum heights shown in the specification. They may be used outdoors on uneven ground, utilizing the Reversible Foot units.
Units can be set up very quickly. Adjustable tripod legs are held firmly by three knob;
Elevation Unit:
Additional height and smooth elevation control is provided by elevation units, one for each tripod. The unit is bolted to the tripod head mounting face and supports the pan and tilt head/camera. It incorporates a solid aluminum hard anodized column and a geared rack and pinion movement. Adjustment by crank handle is light and secure under full load. The standard unit provides an additional 77 cm (30.5 in) height and the short unit 57cm (22.5 in) height.
Stabilizer:
Standard and short tripods can be supplied with a stabilizer unit which adds to overall rigidity and provides a firm lock when the tripod is used on sloping or uneven ground. The stabilizer column attaches to the underside of the head mounting platform and the adjustable arms are secured by screws to the tripods legs.
Foot units:
The tripods incorporate reversible foot units - spikes for the outdoor and rubber feet for indoor use.
